Leg day today… which basically means I won’t be able to sit down like a normal human for the next 3–5 business days.

Had to fire about 1000mg of caffeine into the system beforehand because there’s no chance I’m willingly walking into the squat rack without my heart doing a wee drum solo in my chest. Pre-workout so strong you can nearly hear colours.

All fun and games until you’re halfway through and realise you still have lunges left…..makes me wanna cry

I’ve been doing a kettlebell strength & cardio class lately.

Here is my leg day, I do the same one every single Wednesday and increase the weight with every single week and then have a de load week towards week 8

𝐁𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐬𝐪𝐮𝐚𝐭𝐬

I aim for around 4 sets. 1 being a warm up, 2 being working sets and the last being a back, however sometimes I do 3 working sets and do 5 sets in total

𝐇𝐞𝐞𝐥 𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐬𝐪𝐮𝐚𝐭𝐬

I aim for 3 sets, I want to get as much knee flexing as possible whilst getting my quad into its most lengthened position(as much as possible) fatigue will kick in rather quick

𝐋𝐞𝐠 𝐞𝐱𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬

I am for 3 sets as well, purely focusing on getting as much tension in my quad as I can, fully isolating my quads. My quads at this point are completely dusted.

𝐇𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐬𝐪𝐮𝐚𝐭𝐬

just for the crack, however I used the medicine ball against the wall, holding the bar behind my legs. I am aiming for 2 sets at the very most.

𝐋𝐞𝐠 𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐥𝐬

I aim for 3 sets, I’ll get the hamstrings warmed up plus I can overload rather easily as I’m supported by the machine and don’t have anything that would be the limiting factor other than my hamstrings.

𝐑𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐞 𝐧𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐬

I am for 4 sets, I do this to get into my lengthened position, plus Im trying to bulletproof my hamstrings especially for football

𝐂𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐡𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐧 𝐝𝐢𝐩𝐬

I am for 3 sets, this is done to strengthen my hips and get some better range of motion through them. Thus improving squat depth and my football performance!!!

In the first video I just about hit 130kg with good depth

In the second video I hit 140kg with somewhat decent depth but it could be better 😅

Progress is being made and my strength is increasing all from training with a routine and keeping track of my lifts

I’ll be the first to say I really don’t like running, one because I can’t run for longer than 10 seconds without feeling my heart beat out of my chest and 2 it doesn’t really excite me…..

Now I’ve lots of clients who run and to be honest I wish I was able to run and have the enjoyment that they have running.

Unfortunately I can’t get into it.

But If you add a ball and the odd interval sprint, then I’m all over it!!!

Football does for me, what running does for others.

It improves my fitness, increases my heart rate and breaks my body for several days after.

I’m currently 23, but from playing men’s football most of my life. It’s easily added years on to me.

What I’m saying is, you don’t need to be running to do ‘cardio’ any sport or hobby can be used as your form of cardio along with your weight training

Cardio+ weight training=great results

Now as someone who doesn’t like going for long runs simply due to the fact I’ve the lung capacity of a tube of polo mints😅

I needed to have something else that I enjoy and don’t feel like I’m going to collapse at the end of it…

Now If anyone has ever seen me attempt to ‘play’ football you will know that I’ll be busted shortly after the whistle blows….. but it’s a form of cardio that I enjoy and a type of cardio that I will always do and enjoy doing!!!!

I’m not expecting everyone to pick up their running shoes and go for a run. But don’t limit cardio to just running, playing sports is a great way to improve your cardio plus if you enjoy said sport, you’ve already won half the battle!!!

Along with weight training, adding cardio into your schedule can help shed those lbs and improve your heart health all at the same time…

So why not start doing some cardio before the summer comes?

𝐈’𝐦 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐠𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐞𝐚𝐭 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐤….

Often, when people have a cheat meal or something unhealthy. They completely lose their minds and start acting all crazy!!!

Such as not eating the rest of the week because they think it will drop the weight that they just put on from eating said meal or eating what I had which was a milkshake and a bag of skittles (tasted great btw)

Having an unhealthy relationship with food isn’t a good thing, thinking that every bad meal I have is going to ruin me is not a good way to think!!

Granted, was this the best choice for me to eat?

No not at all

But at the end of the day, it’s in my calories( no longer have many left) but it was still in my calories!!!!

I’ve not completely derailed my diet and I’m not going to wake up with a bigger belly than I already have. Even though that would be most people’s thought.

So have that chocolate bar, it ain’t the end of the world especially if it’s in your calories

Just don’t rip the ass out of it…..

Now this is not me talking about experiencing pregnancy, don’t think I’m gonna feel what it’s like to carry a kid around for 9 months😅

If your active and then fall pregnant, you will probably notice your weight is increasing and appetite is through the roof!!

That isn’t something to be annoyed about, your now eating for 2 😅

Of course your weight is going to increase and of course your belly is going to become round.

You shouldn’t feel bad about how it looks or beat yourself up about it

You’re about to do something that takes some amount of willpower and strength to do. So an extra few lbs ain’t that bad 🙌

You will experience extreme fatigue but you need to listen to your body.

Low impact training and something that doesn’t exhaust you too much is what you should be aiming for if you still want to keep up with your training!!!

I will be doing another 2 posts about the other trimesters in the coming weeks🙌

preheat the oven to 200.

Bread 5 ounces of chicken tenders by dipping in an egg wash made with two egg whites lightly beaten with a fork.

In 2 tablespoons bread crumbs (preferably whole wheat) mixed with 1 tablespoon parmesan cheese, 1/2 teaspoon oregano, 1/4 teaspoon dry mustard, and 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder.

Bake chicken tenders on a baking sheet sprayed with cooking spray for 15 minutes or until chicken is cooked.

Serve with 4.5 ounces of homemade chips (about 18 fries) and 1 cup of steamed tenderstem broccoli drizzled with 1 teaspoon olive oil and a squeeze of lemon juice.

Once again, trying my hand at cooking. Today we have steak served with rocket, mixed leaves, baby tomatoes and cucumber. It’s sitting around 400 calories and we are using hand portions to measure out for the salad. We are getting around 47g of protein and 10g of fat with the steak. However it was cooked in butter so it is slightly high with overall fat content. It’s a very filling lunch and should keep you going until dinner time or can even be used as a healthy dinner. It’s a very common thing to hear these days, people think doing a handful of situps each day is magically going to give them photoshop worthy abs!!!

Unless you have a low body fat percentage, those abs aren’t going to be visible!!

It’s not a bad thing to be doing core, just don’t expect to wake up with washboard abs especially if your diet and training is poor!!
